24 juillet 2017

Amongst the four LIFE Alister Project goals, one of them required a lot of time and energy to be implemented: it was the one concerning the study of the introduction of European Hamsters into an urban periphery environment, meaning on the grounds of activity parks.

These zones have the advantage of being calmer at night, which suits nocturnal animals, and being able easily fitted to facilitate a better biodiversity.

A study, led by the CNRS, will soon begin in the towns of Holtzheim and Schiltigheim.

Inhabitants of Holtzheim were invited on 5 July to a public meeting.
