We also sow maize at the CNRS!

Image 376 parcels managed by the CNRS, where hamsters have been living since autumn 2014, were sowed in maize, wheat or mixed crops (maize, wheat, sunflowers and alfalfa).

When we follow-up these animals (using photos, videos and captures to weigh them), this will allow us to assess the impact of these various crops and associated biodiversity on the hamster’s reproduction and survival until the following year.

These findings will complete and guide farmers in their trials.
